"Prison Job", is a new work based on writings of the Greek writer and activist Elli Pappa, imprisoned by the Greek military junta in the 1950s. Pappa wrote about her experiences as a political prisoner in words that resonate today. Pappa's grandnephew, Steve Stelios Adam – one of Australia’s leading electro-acoustic composers - will write creates a piece for choir and surround-sound electronics, based on Pappa’s texts commissioned and performed by the Astra choir.
