The Bagatelles are among Keith Humble's last works but also reflect an enthusiastic new phase of his work as a composer, exploring transformational techniques and melodic forms that proceed by commentaries rather than developments.The condensed musical language of these short pieces places the composer's voice among those of other musicians.
