Five pieces in two parts
Keith Humble
For violoncello and piano (1982)
Copied and edited with critical notes by Allan Walker.
Keith Humble's Cello Pieces were composed for the Australian cellist Christian Wojtowicz, with whom he was linked by backgrounds in Paris studies, and a close collegial relationship. The work was first performed by them at an Astra concert in 1982. Written following the death of Christian Wojtowicz’s sister, the music moves continuously through five condensed pieces, with references to Mahler death motives.
