Nocturne 3
Keith Humble
Edited by Kim Bastin.
Keith Humble's three Nocturnes for choir and piano were written in 1988 for John McCaughey and the Astra Choir and first performed by them with Kim Bastin, piano - the first two on 25th May 1990 in the Old Customs House, Melbourne, and the third on 27th July 1997 at Northcote Town Hall.
The texts are taken from a set of translations of poems (tsu) by the ninth-century Chinese poet Wen T'ing-Yun, made by Humble's friend J.J.Y. Liu and originally published in the British literary periodical The Adelphi.
This is Nocturne 3. The Three Nocturnes are also published together as Astra Score 10
