Eight Cabaret Songs

Composed 1985-89. The Cabaret Songs started as a smaller set for the American soprano Carol Plantamura. The longer Auden setting that concludes the cycle was composed in 1989 for Merlyn Quaife, with whom Humble performed the earlier songs at an Astra concert in 1988.
